Okay, the final stories of AF were a linked saga named Operation: Deep Cover, wherein Cobra Commander had taked Zartan with infiltrating Af to find out the location of their brand new headquarters which was codenamed Ground Zero. Now he does eventually get taken to the base, slips away, and radios his master but gets spotted, steals a jet, gets shot down and when he does make his way to Cobra HQ has got partial amnesia and can't remember the bases location. so far so good, EXCEPT if you read these 2 pages carefully, you'll note something:

Check the first page, it clearly states that Moondancer is in the Ground Zero HQ as is Scarlett. He then calls up the crewmen out of the staff barracks, and heads to the lift where he is stopped and told that UN Investigators Erik Larsen and Paul Kenning (Zartan) who are stood just behind the guy saying this, want to go with him.
The point: ZARTAN WAS ALREADY IN THE TOP SECRET AF HQ!! He knew it's location 2 stories before reporting it to Cobra Commander.
Just how dumb was Zartan?

There are really only two possibilities: Either there is life in the universe more intelligent than us, or we are the most intelligent form of life in the universe. Either way, it's a pretty worrying thought!
It was never revealed exactly where it was. Battle was running a contest whereby readers could win a big cash prize for guessing the bases location from the various clues that they would be leaking. But yeah, my guess at the time was either Dover or somewhere in Norway.meertoh wrote: Was Ground Zero in Dover by the way?

When the change to Cobra came around the 'Classic' Red Wolf was eventually replaced by a renamed Wild Weasel, but considerabl evidence suggests that many Cobra Roboskulls came with the classic figure, and a number also came with both figures!
Even the comic datafile for the Cobra era Red Wolf showed the classic figure!

It's good to be back

I think I like that. The Cobra Rattler is an improvement over the "flying crimson skull". The Tank Smasher seems so much more aerodynamically combat capable (in "reality") than an "airborne head without flesh". (However, I would love to get my hands on one, anyway!) Any chance that Skeletron could become the "new pilot" for the skull-thingy?
