A Couple of Hyenas
the latest additions to my collection.
First up the Black Major's Hyena. As I mentioned elsewhere, I always wanted to get a black one for the Major and a white one for the Baron. Not enirely inkeeping with red, But all the same, I like the idea. Still to do a white one, when I can get an Artic Hiss. This is just an LBC and many thanks to Paul at vintage star wars collectables aka Squad Leader for the supplies of Hyena stickers. I give you the Black Hyena.
Next up is my restored or version 1.1 Hyena. When I got this from eBay it was missing it's cannons, the clip that held them and the tracks were in a poor state, there was a chip out of one of the tracks and one of the retaining clips was broken. I got a 25th black Hiss that was missing parts and cannibalised the tracks and cannons. They're a pretty close match in colour. I also had an old black hiss turret, so got the clip form that. Albeit it's black, it's not too noticeable when the sticker's applied over it. Hyena 1.1
And finally, a group shot of my current collection, Hyena v1.1, my original Hyena, the Black Hyena and Hyena v2 (early red version).

Re: A Couple of Hyenas
Thanks T'shot. Now I just need a v2 hyena in black to complete them.

Very nice, BM. Hyena's do look much cooler in AF/Shad colours rather than Cobra IMHO.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

Thanks Chopper. Yeah, they do. The black one actually looked pretty good with the GI Joe Cobra decals, I almost didn't change them. But it just looks so much better with the Shad colours. Palitoy certainly got it so right back in the day.

Re: A Couple of Hyenas
Very cool! I'm impressed by the use of 25th parts too, I have 3 ARAH hiss and the sears exclusive, all with repaired elevation pins

Nice work, looking superb. I love the idea of a fleet of Hyenas, something very cool about it, and like personalised concept (with a BAR0N1 number plate perhaps?)
Now, do me a favour and stop buying these on ebay - I'm after one, and some sod always wins... I now realise that that sod is you.

Re: A Couple of Hyenas
A fella over on hisstank just posted his hiss collection.
Never seen anything like it.
Must be 100+.
Each one has a driver, gunner and 2 vipers on the back.
All versions.
Actually had to close the page as my wee phone couldn't handle the images.
I have 8 tanks, 1 hyena, 2 version 4 for customs and the rest modern which I thought was excessive.
Number 1 son also has a couple I bought him when he was into Joe/af.
OCd to the nth degree but I was as jealous as looking at GHeddies fabulous collection.
Really is plastic crack!
