Went to see the B & I Lions vs the Melbourne Rebels last night with the lad. The Reb's got done, 33 nil. Twas a shocker. Ah well, two more test against the Wobalies for some light entertainment. The ACT Brumbies nailing the Lions, the first provincial side to do so in Aussie in 40 years if I'm not mistaken.
On a happier note, The AB's did over the French like a dinner. Happy days.

Was Paul Robinson playing for the rebels?

Gareth Delve was, he was skipper. I thought it funny he was squaring up against Tuilagi and Faletau . A try by Sean Maitland too. Bloody Kiwi's.
Magnificence, Shaun? They are just lucky they aren't visiting NZ for another 4 years. Ritchie will most likely have won another world cup and retired then.

A week late and a bushel of reichsmarks short, but now a nice bit of history to show how different things looked before the third test wherein
was banjoed good and proper.

PS. Whoever put George Smith back on the field should be fired.

He was fired today, and a few Wallabies had the fear of god put into them. O'Driscol and Smith make an ancient pair.
My concern is that the Wallabies will be thumped hard in the 4 nations and NZ will have little competition. I did get to see the second test in Melbourne, a stadium record and a lot of drunk Pom's.

Indeed. It was a strange passing of the flame, and the more egregiously undeservedly/unnecessarily so on Smith.Chopper wrote:O'Driscol and Smith make an ancient pair.
Glad to hear you made it to the test.Chopper wrote:My concern is that the Wallabies will be thumped hard in the 4 nations and NZ will have little competition. I did get to see the second test in Melbourne, a stadium record and a lot of drunk Pom's.

But agree on the implication of the thumping. For now.
But a new coach will sort things out ... O'Connor out-of-position at fly-half tells you all you need to know. He won't be long for that.

Re: Bloody Pom's
O'Connor is overrated, the Rebels (his current team) have won more games without him and Beale than with them. The Aussies still have the empty #10 Jersy to fill.
I wound up in a bar with my Welsh mate and some Pom's after the game. Got home about 2am IIRC. A good night, only drama was I woke at 10 and had to get my son to Footy by 11. I do water boy duties so it was a slow day.
The Lions supporters were more vocal than the Wallabies supporters, not much oi, oi, oi going on but lots of LIIIIOOOOOOON"SSSSS.
