New vehicle for Z Force

Post by Brakkart »

Well at least it will be when I get it painted up in the proper shade of green. It arrived in the mail today, complete model with driver and his sledgehammer. the vehicle in question is this one:

http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/85/bridgelayer/

The GI Joe Bridgelayer driven by Toll Booth. Erm I have to ask, has anyone done a Z force custom, cos I'd love to know what shade of green they used to fit in with the regular vehicles etc.
There are really only two possibilities: Either there is life in the universe more intelligent than us, or we are the most intelligent form of life in the universe. Either way, it's a pretty worrying thought!

On Roadblock I used a mixture of Citadel "Snot Green", "Chaos Black" and Rowney System 3 "Sap Green".
He's not an exact match but near enough.

Unfortunately I wasn't very methodical in my mixing and didn't take notes on how much of each paint I used!

I haven't started painting the helicopter yet but I've bought a pot of Citadel "Catachan Green" to experiment with.

Great choice on the Bridgelayer, a perfect vehicle for Z Force!

Good luck!

Cheers for that, guess I'll just have to experiment. Yeah the tank should fit in really well for Z Force (not that I have any other Z Force though, just liked the look of it). Got it really cheap on ebay too.

Brakkart who is irked as he found out today that Citadel no longer do spray cans of Blood Red because "there wasn't the demand for it". Arrggghhh, painting the Command Centre I bought is gonna take like 10 pots of the stuff now and take AGES!!!

Okay not strictly true, I have other Z Force, just not actually collecting them and the few figures/vehicles I have got are for trading (got them in a couple package deals when I was after the Red Shadow figures in the bundle). Not interested in collectiong Z Force really.

I got my Shadow army, and I'm now collecting Cobra (both AF & GI Joe range figures).

Why not do a predominately black base with red trim, then?

It just wouldn't look right next to the other Shadow vehicles and figures. A nice idea for a paint scheme, but I'd prefer a more uniform look to match the other models.

Thanks for the idea though.

Yeah, guess that'd be too SAS-ish.

Isn't there that car undercoat stuff that sprays a kinda deep rust colour?

I've seen that Humrol have just released an airbrush and compressor kit for about ?60, which is amazing value, not sure the quality at this price but for models it would probably be fine
