That's not right Baron - that'd make all of mine the later era ones, and, well, they're not! I even checked DawsonDancer (my earliest Moondancer from when I was a kid) and he is wristwatch'd up. And he was my first series 2 figure - so really early days!

I've not checked the MOC's but I'm pretty sure that, if anything, it'll be the other way around! I bet the Commander mailaways are the wristwatch versions, which are the earliest incarnations of it.

LOL I actually meant the other way around! Haha. Splayed fingers 1983, better grip action 1984.

The Doc variations look to be a different plastic, is that right? I cannot see any mould differences such as the helmet strap. I suspect this is the case of two separate production facilities.

I agree with that analysis!

I have a sneaky suspicion that my end of run, Space Captain carded up as Stormshadow with random sh*t in the bubble may be the harder plastic version, but he's well hidden at the back of carded corner and it may be some time before I can confirm (he's fallen down the gap between my cabinets, and the only way to get hime out is going to be to move the entire cabinets, which is a job for a long time away, once I'm done creating dust in the toy room!) ;-)

Have you tried using a long stick, such as a piece of bamboo?

Sven on the left has the stright belt and hard plastic with no gloss
Sven on the right has the curved up belt and the plastic is diffrent softer and glossy.

iam sure its due to two diffrent factorys. i know the curved belt is the harder of the two to find. not saying its rare but out of the 15 svens and 5 moc svens only 4 are curved belt. i will i know the carded versions each have a curved and stright belt. and there are only two carded version of Sven and one is cuved and the other is not curved

A Commander 1984 cardback? Do you not mean Skeletron / Kraken?

Noooo! They aren't ultra rare! I mean the Commander one.

Incidentally - never seen a Kraken mail away on a cardback. I dont think they existed.

I've never seen one either, I only asked because Kraken was available as a mailaway in the micro-comic. But there's no reason to think there would be a Commander offer Medic cardback as that was strictly the 1983 releases.

Bah, we're still missing so many 1983/1984 cardbacks.
