OK I accept "blood for the baron" but the other rallying cries, anyone else think they're pants?
"Yo Joe!" in particular never made any sense to me... did they ever say it in the comic?
I can't remember classic BAF Action Force having a thing they shouted as they charged towards their possible deaths...

There was the rather cool bit from the SAS mini-comic where two redshirts ploughed their Boat Patrol into a machine gun nest.

Yes 'Yo Joe' is an embarrasing battle cry. The first time I read it in the American comic I winced. My memories of 'Full Force' are from watching the Action Force cartoon when the characters voice would suddenly change completely in a very bad dub.
Blood for the Baron is by far the best battle cry!!

"Yo Joe!" is indeed pretty crap. I think it originated in the cartoon so I understand it to a degree, but when it started turning up in the comic.... gag! I mean, announcing your prescence to an enemy in such a way? Kind of ruined the "best of the best" that GI JOE was supposed to be (especially as their tactics involved charging headlong at an enemy yelling battle slogans - Very good training there!!)
"Blood for the Baron" makes more sense. The Red Shadows were fanatics and would be expected to be so indoctrinated.

"Kill For Cobra" that was one from the IPC comic.. sounds like in the tradition of "Blood for the Baron" don't remember "Full Force" must of been in Cartoon which was never screened on TV in UK sounds a bit like a line from a early 80s Hip Hop record with Roxanne Shante lol But I like "Kill for Cobra" sounds insane enough for me
Re: rallying cries: full force, yo joe, blood for the baron....
They also had "Blood for Cobra" in IPC which was pretty poor, even as a kid I thought it was just a lack of imagination folllowing on from "Blood For The Baron".
I'd love to know who came up with the phrase "Blood For The Baron" though, it's on none of the Action Force toy packaging or marketing, it's definitely in the first episode of Bloodhound but I'll have to check the original story and mini-comics.
When we used to play with Action Force as kids my mate's dad used to burst in and shout "Blood For The Baron! Blood For The Baron!" sporadically.

Gerry Day came up with the phrase "Blood For the Baron", first time it was used was in 3rd episode of the original Action Force strip
(The Invasion of Ascendancy Island) by a Shadow
who attempts a suicide attack on Steelers
Tank . Gerry Day also came up with such curse words as "Stak!"and Skev" in Rogue Trooper.. nice little slogans (I always wonder whatever happened to Gerry Day , he seemed to be forced off Rogue Trooper by Simon Gellar who wrote the Hit Stories which strayed away from what Rogue was about .. anyway hope he's still writing stuff It would be good to get an interview with him about Bloodhound etc for the site

Yep it was on the UK video only release of the joe cartoons, with 'action force' badly dubbed over GI Joe. "Full Force!" was dubbed over "yo joe!"fuzzchile wrote:don't remember "Full Force" must of been in Cartoon which was never screened on TV in UK

If you have the GI Joe season 2 part 1 DVD release from Rhino, then the "Arise Serpentor, Arise" story included is partially dubbed with an Action Force soundtrack (the last two episodes, I think). It must have been included in error, but you do hear "Full Force" a few times (and pretty embarassing it is too, especially as it's done so badly!)

Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?
