Literally, a pop quiz!
I`m going to have a go at customizing a few figures and i've heard of this "boil & pop" method, is this the best way to get the 1st & 2nd gen apart?
All help gratefully accepted!
Pop quiz hot shots!
Re: Pop quiz hot shots!
Not tried it. I take a stanley knife and work the seam. I always start at the crotch as it is the least noticeable area. Once I have my incision I slide in a couple of thin screwdrivers (the silver-handled type) and basically waggle until it comes apart, aiding with the stanley knife where needed. Once you're started they come apart quite easily, although go gently as occasionally they'll snap from the armpit to the neck as opposed to across the shoulder seam.
Once I've mixed and matched my assorted limbs I use superglue to reassemble, but do be careful to keep it away from the joints, I have a figure whose arm will not move at all
I'm considering using Araldite on my next batch as this is what I use to fix my toys - tough as nails yet remains flexible, and can be easily removed at a later date.
