Re: BFTB Backstory Project: Baron Ironblood
Red Banshees my creation ,or at least I invented her mum, (also called Banshee) very different from Jamar's comics version ..he Brainwashes her(Banshees Mum that is)as she is searching for her lost brother (who has joined The Red Shadows )tracks down Barons secret lair in South America only to be converted to the Barons cause.. At some point Baron betrays Banshee mark 1 and keeps her daughter captive away from her , I haven't written the whole story yet but it's in my head for Red Dusk (which focuses on the events that lead up to The Invasion of Ascendencey Island )..As for the Baron himself I kind of like the explanation that's given in File on the Baron , That he was involved in Korean War , fled accused of atrocities ,went onto to be a Mercenary I think his reasons for wanting power may go back generations..back to the Crusades perhaps seeing as his helmets very Teutonic and the Kassel's family moto "Our Blood is of Iron"
Re: BFTB Backstory Project: Baron Ironblood
We've not discussed his helmet yet. I don't think it's a Teutonic heirloom passed down through the generations, but a 20th century creation. Can't think of any other examples offhand, but the free gift in the comic cited it as having hypnotic powers. I think, given what we know of the Shad and AF universe, it has to be technological as opposed to magical.

Well according to the new red shadow profile cards the actual Shad head gear has toxins and chemicals installed inside it , making The Shadows those crazy guys we all know and love ..As for the Barons mask it's possible perhaps there's some kind of of radio wave signal that Shadows react to perhaps giving the impression of hypnotic powers (The Baron is a good Hat designer as seen in a later episode of The Black Major)Sure the Barons helmet (lol) is top the range technology , but why that shape ? why that look ? may have its roots from an earlier era..

That is some interesting takes on the helmets. I'll have to include something like that in my story. Which I should have a rough copy in a week or two
.
I would like to read your take on Banshee/Red Banshee fuzzchile. Then again I have my take on it all, but it will be up to all if it's liked or not. If you just want to use parts of my story, that would be cool with me.

Re: BFTB Backstory Project: Baron Ironblood
how many of us are working independently on fan fiction??
i have a story, well a rough outline, havent really had time to flesh it out, about the return of Ironblood and the re-establishment of the Shadows as a serious global threat. hoping to self publish as a graphic novel once i've it scripted, drawn etc and after discussing it with The Baron to see if he approves, which i wont do until ive finished the script and thumbnails.
i've read and enjoyed Red Dawn which i think is trying to establish the same thing but the stories differ greatly.
my original plan was to then throw it open to other members and let it expand and grow.
guess i better get the finger out and put a bit of effort in, if only the real world would stop gettin in tha way

Re: BFTB Backstory Project: Baron Ironblood
I have a couple of stories in mind, one being a "Whatever happened to Special Weapons Force?" prequel thingy and another "Lost in Space" thing about Red Wolf and Moondancer which will bridge the gap for their team transitions during World Enemy No. 1.
But I can happily say there's room for everything in the Fanfic arena when there are already so many continuities in the official releases.

Re: BFTB Backstory Project: Baron Ironblood
Let me know if I’m stepping on your toes Baron, but this is how I take it.
This was something I suggested to Baron about add more story to the characters of AF. As it seems that the comics are about the only source for information. The idea I was thinking of would be that we all can add to them and whatever would be voted or agreed on by everyone and then written into the characters story (as canon or something by fans for fans), possibly posted with a link on the main page with Baron’s okay. I was thinking it could be like the declassified thing like done on US Joe characters.
Anyway, I think the best way would be to post anything you would like to add here and then everyone can talk about what they like or don’t with ultimately everything agreed on working into a big story of “said†character and I would hope everyone will add something. If this works well, I would like to continue with all of AF line.

Well I'm very keen to promote it as an independant fanfic project, and to give it it's own archive in the Fanfic section (like the Memorial and Timeline projects)... But as for making it the official canon, I'm not so keen on the idea. I certainly wouldn't want to integrate it into the main toy archives. Sorry if I hadn't made that clear already.
