One question I always wanted to ask Hasbro that involves the Red Shadows is this ...
"Given that the Crimson Guards first appeared in the 1985 GI Joe wave of toys, were these red uniformed enemy figures inspired, at least in part, by the success of the similarly outfit Red Shadow toys that were such a huge hit with kids in Europe pre-1985?"
I've longed suspected this to be the case, as the Red Shadows must have sold by the bucket load over here in sunny Europe before Duke's Action Force appeared to battle Cobra. I'll willing to bet someone at Hasbro US was keeping an eye on Palitoy's sales of the red uniformed ones and thought " hey what a cool idea red suited bad guys".
Just my twopenth

okay had a look around the other sites and it seems that we have about 5 days to get this next session in!
can you confirm that Baron?
so if so start submitting your questions ? here or where El Baron??? and I guess hell pick the most relevant questions / best and submit them!
Heres four to start us off
1. With the International logo being present on Ninja-ku and Glenda , are there plans to do more releases based on international characters?
2. First I want to say Thank you so much for giving us repaints that are inspired by foreign released characters its been my favorite part of this whole new line. My question is why go so far as making a international logo copying the color scheme but stopping short of doing it 100 percent correct? For example you went as far as putting the Ninja Ku name on the ninja ku inspired repaint packaging but then called him storm shadow. You also did the skin color white and not the Dark skin the originally had. ALso with the upcoming Scarlett pilot ( Glenda inspired Repaint ) you have her with RED HAIR not Blonde. But again she has the international Logo on it, It doesnt make sense to make a tribute figure go to all the trouble of getting it 90 percent right and then stopping short of that extra 10 percent, Can you shed some light on this for us international character fans?
3. Is there any chance variants could be made of the Ninja ku and Pilot scarlett to reflect a more accurate representation of these foreign characters?
4. Again thank you very much for the internationally inspired repaints, but Im curious as to why the South American Characters were chosen first for the international collection segment of the GI JOE toy line when the UK characters of GI JOE / Action Force has a larger and more active fan base?
now get to it, keep in mind I would say we are an international site and hasbro does want to sell toys !

Crumbs! Are we being given another opportunity to talk to these chaps? Wow! If I may be so bold..., it seems they'd like us to concentrate our questions on the figures themselves and not too much on the comics (DDP or BAF). Maybe we'll score more points if we skip the comic strips ( for now!). My suggested question would be... "There seems to be some confusion as to how GI Joe became involved with the international ranges, such as those in South America, Europe, and of course Britain's own Action Force. If more international heroes are revamped and released in the future, would you consider adding a very brief explanaition on the cardbacks as to which companies produced those figures before being bought-out by Hasbro? That would stop the unpleasant rumours suggesting international companies "stole" the GI Joe concept and simply repackaged it, when in fact those companies were acquired by Hasbro after the fact. Thank you!" I hope you chaps find my question appropriate. Take care and have fun!

Yep, I've been in touch, and due to the haste last time we got missed out the mialshot this time - much apologies and assurances all will work out the next time.
So, we need to got five questions in by noon eastern time on Monday.
Do I make that 3 questions? I'm happy to step back as I asked all five the last time.

Hey, Jamar! Any chance of some pictures of the revamped figures you've mentioned? Glenda, Ninja Ku, any others? Maybe we could drop some hints about other characters... viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1959&p=11685#p11685Moondancer and Dolphin ! Cool! You know the earliest Moondancer figure, (the Palitoy one), was VERY similar to Space Commander... ( hint -- hint!) "...Looking forward to possibly having bendy arms one day..."
