Need help with Broken Figures and O-Rings

Hi, I have some figures that are in great condition and only have the black band snaped inside (due to being so old) I read on ebay that someone replaced the O-Ring. Is this the black band inside.
If it is how do you get hold of them and are they easy to fit back together?

Yes. The "o-ring"is the black rubber band. What I always do is look for a bunch of (Lanard) Corps figures at garage sales. I stock up on these and when one of the Joe bands snap, I rip the Corps guy apart and replace the Joe guys band with it...
'Course, if you are in the U.K. or other parts of Europe, I am not sure how accesible the Corps action figures are...

Hey thats a great idea.
Lanard figures and other joe knock offs turn up pretty often on Car Boot sales in the u.k.
What i want to know is how do you get hold of figure stands as its a pain in the ass to keep picking up af/gi joes when the cat knocks them off the shelf.

e-Bay... But be warned! The '80s figures had a smaller hole in the heel and if you try to pop in a "2000 and up" stand, it might cause the heel of your beloved '80s toy to pop off! (Believe me, I know! This happened to my Duke (v.1) and you don't want to know what it is like to search around brown carpet to find a miniscule piece of a brown heel to glue back on! Egad!)

Definitely replace your old broken bands. It's dead easy unless the screw is rusted in the back. Apparently you can get o rings from plumbing supply shops - but i've never done this.
Small Joes sell replacement rings:

I have been able to pick up replacement O-rings in plumbing sections before. Here's an FAQ that may answer your question:

It could be different in Europe, but this may answer your question:
B. Bands
The black rubber bands inside the figures tended to sag after excessive play. Look for
"Plumber's O-Rings." They sell for 25-39 cents each, and are superb replacements for the
bands. Buy sizes of either #8, #9, or #10 and see which ones you prefer to use.
