Devil Due Comics will have Gi Joe fighting The Red Shadows

Devil Due will soon launch a new gi joe comic with cobra broken, half the gi joe team is dead-missing or wounded and a group called the red shadows as a new enemy. They have a picture of 3 red shadow leaders one has the old skull and bones.
Does that not suck everyone. Such a great comic enemy turned into a sad american spin off. No mention of Action Force just same old Gi Joe Forces.
Check it out everyone and weep.

V-bar! Long time! Ah, I'm kinda glad to see 'em back, but I do hope they blend with the true Shads, I just can't see any reason in not using the actual toy designs.
I got over AF becoming GI Joe back in the Battle days, but it would be nice if there is some continuity at work.

No phone line where i live so getting on the web is a long walk into town. The new comic has a cover of a short white man with pistols and red military uniform with skull and bones. There is a white large man behind him in red and a black woman in leathers. The old comic is giving way to a new series set 1 year on.
I went off Action Force when it swapped over but enjoyed a couple of stries including School for snakes, but it seemed only those stories with the old cast held any real interest for me.

I'm with all of you. Without ties to the original Action Force and Red Shadows (led by the Baron), it all just rings hollow. I hope Devil's Due addresses this... They do hint to the idea of the Red Shadows having been around for a long time...

Its kinda lame what they did to the

concept. To bad they didn?t use the old figures. They would stil have fitted nicely in todays enemy power.
I do however collect them until issue 43 but then i?am going to stop. Because it doesn?t have the right feeling to it.
Until the red shadows rise agian properly. And let te S.A.S. troops return as well.
The same is with the preview of issue 43. Why shoot in the back to get her down, shoot her through the head if you are sure she has bodyarmour.

We have to remember that any publicity is "good publicity". If the Shads get recognition on America's shores, than who knows what could happen in the future? Maybe we will see the eventual return of the Baron and Black Major...

: Cool!

Just finished gi joe 42. The whole plot looks lame but at least the US comic has taken up on the idea. To bad its still all about American soldiers and not a world wide effort like in the Battle comics. Im going to stick it out for the first 3-6 issues of the new series but even then im not going to hold my breath. Maybe, just maybe someone might get the rights to do the old action force if the story does well in the usa.

I do like the fact that in the comic (#42), the original G.I. Joe notes that Vaughn Wilder (groan) became the leader of the Red Shadows by infiltrating it as a spy. This means that it is wide open for the Black Major to have been replaced by him as the leader of the Shads. Maybe someday we will be treated to the return of the Black Major! Cool!

: I think so, too!

I would love to see that!!!! If not then I always thought that;
Dela Eden should be the daughter of the black Major and be now called the black major
Artur Kukick (sp) should be red vulture
Vaghn should be called the Baron
in any case I would love to see more of the red shadows and definately more connections with the original RS

How about Dela Eden as The Black Majorette?
