Hello everybody,
At some point I would like to put together some custom figures and I was wondering how easy it is to swap palitoy figure heads and how to do it.
I realise that this question probably comes up a lot, So by all means Link me to an existing thread If one exists,
Cheers, Plait

While I haven't done the sort of customs you mean other members boil the figures to disintergrate the glue and then carefully pop the body halves apart.

Yeah it's kinda easy, just dunk the figures in hot water for a few minutes and they'll go soft and you can just pop the limbs and head off. Getting them back on is a little bit trickier though.

I use a Stanley knife to cut his crotch.

Then just crack it open like a walnut. Works OK. I have had a few limbs break with the hot water method so you do have to be careful.
A painting tip, don't use enamel as it won't set on Palitoy limbs. Acrylic works tho.

Yep, Stanley knife to the crotch, then slide in two thin screwdrivers and gently wiggle them until the torso splits. Occasionally they break diagonally from the neck to the armpit, which is hard to avoid.
I would reassemble using Araldite as it retains a degree of flexibility and superglue can leave a nasty white residue.

Thankyou everyone... Sounds a bit too tricky for me, I think I'll just stick to repaints!

O n before you cut the croch put a screwdriver thru the arm holes n another thru the legs and give them a gentle wiggle some figures will just pop with no work, only a few tho.

Hrm, maybe I did get a bit technical...
Stick in a knife, force it apart, glue it back together.
You will need a knife and some glue.
