SAS Force Quick customs

Post by Fant0mas »

Hi all-this is my first post to the forum-and my first AF customs in a few years too.

I used to post my stuff in regulary to various AF sites and I am in the BFTB customs under username Fant0mas. So I'm hoping that these will be the first of many customs I'll be submitting as I'm easing myself back into the hobby.

I always wanted these types of figures when I was younger (and I'm sure many of you did too) so that is what first started me customising. I wanted the keep the feel of the "Old School" SAS Force,Z Force, etc but with the poseability of the modern Action Force/Gi Joe. I did lots and lots of customising back then but I sold the bulk on ebay-but that was then and after a break of several years I'm getting the bug again...

So to start off 2 really easy ones but also 2 of my favourites-Eagle and Stalker!

Not really a lot of customising done really-just popping off heads and adding various bits(not like the good old days!) Eagle's head was made from the ROC snake eyes but with the visor removed and a splash of paint on the face-I always loved Geof Campions take of the Battle Action Force stuff-to me he is the ultimate AF artist- he brought the characters to life and they remain clearly in my otherwise cloudy head!

I always wanted an Eagle who didn't have his gas mask on all the time so here is my latest attempt....
Stalker-again I went with Geof's "Bloodhound" Stalker look with woolly cap and goggles. His head is from a ROC Zartan figure.

I have in the works an Iroblood, Black Major and Shadow customs lined up to do so bear with me and I'll get them out ASAP!

if anyone wants anymore info regarding my customs feel free to give me a shout

I haven't painted the SAS insignia yet-as I wanted to get these out there and test the water so to speak-so any feedback and comments are welcome. I know these characters ,and all the classic AF/Enemy have been done a million times before but they hold a special place in me and all that nostalgia and childhood excitement is still there-

This site and forum is amazing-all the hard work you chaps putting into the hobby is great and I am loving it!

Cheers all

Fant0mas

Welcome home, Fant0mas! For those who don't know, Russ's customs were the first Action Force customs uploaded to this site - back when it was AF Online.

Welcome back. I'm normally just a fan of the Palitoy era figures, but I love these customs. They look fantatsic. Look forward to seeing some more.

Mornin all-thanks for the kind words and feedback

the mask is from the ROC pit commando figure-but I got another one from a ROC Duke figure(I used that figure for Eagle-everything apart from the head which is ROC snake eyes) the Duke figure is from some toys r us 5 pack- he is "Duke in infiltration gear" version 39 on yo joe.com- I just stumbled across it on ebay.com and instantly thought-hooray-there is my eagle figure! plus the fact that he came with the gas mask made it a win win!

You can also get the gas mask with 25th anni Shockblast figure

thanks again chaps for the welcome-look forward to speaking to you soon and lobbing over a few customs
cheers

These are brilliant! Particularly like the use of the Snake Eyes head - looks spot on!

if you need any heads for Shadow customs, you know where I am! :-D

I was one of the lucky ones to snap up your customs on Ebay, its what inspired me to begin my
own projects.
