Blood for the Baron!

Hi all,

As I continue my journey to complete my collection I cant help wondering if others have set a limit to what they will collect or if they collect pretty much all which they find interesting (just like me). On top of that I would like to know which figure is your must valuable one, not necessary in financial terms but also in your "collectors-heart"

My personal one is probably the Cobra Commander v2 with all his gold-stuff intact but money-wise it may just have to be Keel-Haul or the Royal Guard I just got via Fee-Bay. In the vehicle section it must be the complete Terror Drome w/box that sits in Chicago waiting to come home to "daddy" before X-mas

good question. i personally started with the intention of collecting a modest army and no carded figures and so on. but it has grown since then and i'll probably carry on untill i can get no more in the house. i have considered other toy ranges but i think it would be too dangerous if i did, not that i wouldn't like to start collecting some star wars toys but i have to be realistic, it's purely space we don't have enough yet.

i have several favourites like the night force range and tiger force. also love the cobra troopers but everyone knows that. but i have real affection for the palitoy stuff as it is really what started me wanting to collect them as an adult, as they gave me many a happy childhood memory where i could shut the world away and play for hours.

Well, speaking of Night Force and Tiger Force I have decided not to try and collect the NF series and may even start selling the TF as I dont see any chance of getting all the items due to lack of items for sale in EU and too expensive bringing them home from the US.

i'm waiting for my last Joe to arrive. I'll have 45 Joe members and eventually aim to have 30 Cobras; basically getting 3 more CGs, a second Snow Serpent, Eel and Iron Grenadier, a HEAT-Viper, a Tele-Viper and a Stinger jeep and

as for i would like to get a Wolverine and but probably won't for a long time if ever. i plan to get a second one of and eventually.

my most treasured figure is either my Steel Brigade or Big Ben.

Good question indeed! I collect, well, too much. I've had to draw a line in the sand for the time being due to space and money, otherwise I would be sorely tempted to move on to collect He Man figures - both MOC and loose, as they were big favourites as a child. Eddie - I notice your collecting tastes are as completist as mine, if not mroe so, so I would heartily encourae you NOT to bracnh out into other toy ranges - it is very addictive!

I keep meaning to post some updated pics of my other collections, but I never seem to get a chance to take them. MOC I have BSG, Dukes of Hazzard, Clash of the Titans, Battle of the Planets, CHIPS, Black Hole, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Terrahawks, a few Star Wars, and, of course, Action Force up to series 3. Most ranges are complete.

Loose, I tend to limit my collecting to just AF and I am planning on resurrecting the collecting of loose Star Wars figs eventually, to try to complete them loose.

I also have a vast collection of 1/18th scale diecast cars. Had to stop with them as space ran out. So, for me, space is a big factor now. I've been subtley pruning my collections over the last year or so, and this continues at the moment, with me seriously considering selling on my Black Hole and Buck Rogers collections in the New Year. Not that I dont love them, it's just that space is a real factor now, and the shelves brimeth over, and those collections I never really had as a kid, so the nostalgia side of it isn't there as much. We shall have to see.

My favourite items I would say are either my 1/18th scale General Lees signed by Cooter, Bo & Luke, or my Trans am signed by Burt Reynolds. AF wise I would obviously now have to say is my favourite for the adventures he's been on with me lately, but nostalgia wise my holds a special place in my heart as my first ever AF figure. With his glued leg and all he still has pride of place in my cabinets!

New pics please, Steve How can you say, sell of the Buck Roger stuff? That's.... well, that's.... just insane. Snap out of it.

My goal is all things AF, I have about 250 figures now Wife's not reading, good. I have just procured my last series 2 straight limbed chap, Surfer. He'll be a special one for sure. There was this other bugger who got me started

The ones that mean the most to me? All the original figures I had as kid. Breaker swivel arm, he was my first Toltoys chap. My MOC Shark figure, a very welcome gift early on in my BFTB escapades. My Wolverine and Hunter cause its just damned cool and my Moondancer figure with glued leg and SD written on the soles of his feet. He's the epitome of collecting and garden warfare.

Most expensive figure? Probably Scout. Oh and yes, I'm a sentimental bugger, if you couldn't tell

My intention is, has always been, to keep my collection lean & mean. I buy stuff, I put it on display and enjoy looking at it. After a while, when I get bored with it, 4 out 5 times I pass it on. This keeps the collection limited in space usage. At the moment I am not putting a lot of effort into any of my collections.

Most valuable figure: Quarrel. She was my first jointed figure ever. Still got the one from my childhood condition and she is still in presteen condition!

Most valuable moneywise: AF Dolphin & AF Moondancer. Tiger Force exclusives are also pretty valuable, but mainly from an American point of view. In Europe they can still be found at pretty normal prices.

How come you say Keel Haul is a valuable figure? To me this figure is pretty common. A few years ago I bought quite a few of them, mint in bag, from a Belgium seller for a few euros each. In Holland he can be found it lots quite often.

Interesting, I have not been able to locate him anywhere even though I frequently look at both .be, .nl and .fr?! I guess I just need to look even closer before purchasing them at overprice from .uk

i agree, if i started collecting something else it'll never end.

Yup, that also happens to me, that's why I had to use all my willpower to avoid buying A.T.O.M. figures; beginning a new collection from scratch while one is still buying a lot of others could result in CHAOS!
However, I don't apply that if I consider the collection as a sort of "expansion" of a previous one (e.g. buying the Batman Returns, Batman Animated Series, Superman Man of Steel, etc, to put them among the Super Powers collection)
