4 New Recruits:

:enemy:
Codename:Black Knight
Real Name: Classified
Born: Murmansk, USSR
Primary Military Specialty: Fighter Combat
Secondary Military Specialty: Space Capsule Piloting

Black Knight is a former Soviet Fighter Pilot. Intelligence suggests that he defected to Ironbloods forces of his own free will, and was intent on making his own destiny. Black Knight is an oddity amongst the baron's forces in that he would sooner face an enemy in a fair fight, rather than rely on more devious means, it was this behaviour which earnt him his codename while with the Soviet Airforce, and he took the codename with him when he left.

"Baron Ironblood Tolerates Black Knight's 'fairness' as despite that he is one of the top Roboskull pilots that the Baron has at his disposal"

Codename: Red Phoenix
Real Name: Classified
Born: USA
Primary Military Specialty: Space Vehicle Gunnery
Secondary Military Specialty: Survival

Red Phoenix is gunner aboard Black Knight's Roboskull. For a number of years Phoenix was gunner for Red Wolf, and used the code name Red Fox, and was one of the few people who called him a friend. An incident on the moon changed that, Red Wolf abandoned his friend in a crashed roboskill when it was shot down on the moon by Space Force. Fox was knocked unconcious by the explosion and left for dead by Red Wolf. When he came to, he was alone in the wrecked Roboskull, he managed to patch its hull, and then survive alone in it for a month. Eventually he was spotted by Black Knight, who rescued him, feeling indebted to Black Knight he became his 3rd crewman, and later his gunner.

"Red Phoenix still wears the same battered pressure suit that he survived on the moon in, he says it brings him luck"

All Red Wolf - got this figure in this condition in bulk lot, but he looks really good in this beaten up state.

:enemy:
Codename:Red Fox
Real Name: Pietr Van Der May
Born: Holland
AF Code Number: 358917
Primary Military Specialty: Sabotage
Secondary Military Specialty: Gunnery

Red Fox is Red Wolf's current gunner (and the fifth Shadow trooper to use that codename). He was a Space Security Trooper, and was bribed to defect to the Red Shadows. He sabotaged the power systems of a Space Force installation leaving it open to attack, and then escaped in Satellite Defence while the installation was under attack. He became Gunner for Red Wolf after the crash on the moon in which he left his previous gunner for dead. Red Fox knows that he is in one of the most prestigious places to be for any member of the Shadow Space Corps, but he does feel wary of his pilot given how he abandoned the previous Red Fox. Action Force still want him captured dead or alive

"Red Fox trusts no one fully, least of all Red Wolf. "

:space:
Codename:Lasso
Name: Hank Williams
Born: Denver, Colorado
AF Code Number: 353575
Primary Military Specialty: Land Systems Officer
Secondary Military Specialty: Small craft repairs

Lasso joint Space Force from the US Navy, where he was an LSO aboard the USS Enterprise, he was offered the chance to fulfill the same basic role aboard the main Space Force Station, and he jumped at the opportunity. As well as co-ordinating flight deck operation he conducts routine repairs on Cosmic Cruisers and Triad Fighters, and thinks of all the ships as his own, and thinks nothing of telling off a pilot for damagin them!

"Lasso is master of the landing deck aboard Space Force 1, no pilot with any common sense gets on his bad side"

steve,
these are very very cool. your flight deck officer uniform is one i was toying with but didn't have a bio or role for. i was thinking along the lines of rescue because of all the orange. your idea for him is perfect as is the bio. the idea of orange uniformed space force men crewing the flight decks along the lines of US aircraft carriers is brilliant.

BLACK KNIGHT and RED FOX are superb. i think FOX should have black breathing kit. it would unify the figure. the bios are excellent. the relationship between these characters would have made a superb storey in BAF. you have a real eye for the space stuff. i hope you don't mind if i create a few flight deck crew like yours.

i have an idea for covert space infiltrator/interdiction troops. the body from security trooper, arms from sas squad leader (i have lots of those) and legs from night patrol or sas boat patrol. what do you think? :hawkwind:

Cheers Andy, I think your are right about the BA and trim, I'll paint that when I get a chance.

Feel free to to reproduce the Flight Deck officer, I'm probably going to do a couple more myself, once I've worked out how many of my pilots I need as pilots.

The Inderdiction Trooper sounds very good, look forward to seeing it. I had a similar Idea using the limbs I used on Red Fox, but I only had one spare bashed up Night Patrol and it was a toss up between an all black red wolf variant, or a black limbed security trooper. In the end I felt my Shadow Army needed reinforcements.

I'm considering using space security trooper bodies and Muton limbs to make a generic space shadow, I can't think of a better recipe using common components.

The Characters will one day hopefully all take their place in an epic Space Force photo story, which I'm hoping will explore a lot of the background in the bios. When that will be I don't know, as I never seem to get enough time to get it done. When it does happen it will be published in weekly installments though....

Steve,
your'e right about the lack of SHADOW components, i've considered using the limbs from the Series One MISSION PILOT but they are a bit plain. I'm going to start experimenting with spray on car paints to find a good match for the red as i want to build a SHADOW HELICOPTER PILOT, SHADOW SNIPER and SHADOW ASSAULT TEAM in body armour. Has any one seen or know of a SHADOW PILOT ptototype or design that was never produced ?

Plastik,
dip the figure in boiling water to soften the limbs, then ease them out of the body. cut around the body seem with a scalpel and prise it apart. some are easy as they are poorley glued. there are pegs inside the body, twist the body halves until they snap/come unstuck. there is a link on one of steves posts on the creativity forum to a guy who does this with starwars figs. he expalins in detail and with pictures. i'm not sure how to add a link. this was the same method i used on my Q FORCE GUNNER which is on this forum too.

The tutorial is at:

If you are not removing the head you can get away with not splitting the body, but it is a lot trickier to do, but the end result is slightly better.

I've been thinking about a shadow pilot, but can't think how to without repainting, might just end up as a Black Major body with a Night Patrol head yet. The other option would be to do a simple repaint of a Night Patrol I suppose.

Another custom I've got figured out is a shadow frogman, which would combine a Black Major body with the head and limbs from an SAS frogman, a nice simple conversion.
