I did the same thing with a Mars bar earlier. I just didn't give a f*ck! Ripped the packet open to find a mint condition Mars bar inside.
I ate it.

In defense of Eddie, I must say that opening a vintage box is not so bad as opening a vintage card; the box can be re-sealed, and the toy can't be appreciated in the box, because it needs assembly.
