ok, my 1st custom using enamels.......
found them really nice to work with, black wash was awkward coz i ended up cleaning some of the silver off by accident & had to re-do it!

i might dry brush the grey with a lighter grey, the grey & the dark silver ended up being a closer shade than i wanted.
the skin & the hair are left as was, everything else is repainted. might change his hair colour, thinking about sculpting him a bit of facial hair!
recipe:
head - scalpel
torso, legs, belt & shoulder pad - overkill
arms - ripper
helmet - resolute duke
not an original recipe, but it works well. should have his night attack moray hydrofoil ready soon!
think i'll keep using enamels, much slower process but i like the results!

This is really nice Ross. If this is how you can get the enamels to work for you then I'd certainyl say stick with them!
If I were to offer one 'criticism' it's that I think of Copperhead as having some green on him. Not saying you should add any, as I really like it as it is, but if you were to do another, some green would make me think of him more as Copperhead.

I thought about using some green, but decided to use these colours so he matches my night attack moray.
dont have the rest of the crew sorted yet, i need more lampreys (let me know if anyone can help!)
Used a slightly lighter grey & drybrushed him again.

Hi Ross, you could get some green on him, I used to dry brush black with green highlights in my old warhammer painting days..it work suprisingly well as did blue.

Excellent job Ross !
I think he looks fine as he is, perhaps adding green would take away the night attack element ?

yeah i know, it would look good but he will match his boat like this, i wanted a night attack copperhead!
was really chuffed with this one, got the paint job just how i wanted it & all the comments are about how he should be green!
lol, he has already been released just like this (same torso) in traditional colours, didnt want to just replicate him + the whole crew & boat will be in this colour scheme, "night" attack.

The helmet reminds me of the one Kryten's replacement wore in Red Dwarf. Love this custom.

Yer know..the more I look @ his helmet, shape wise..the more it reminds me of Ace McCloud outta the Centurions.
He does look very good..I think that most of us are just so used to

being in green, it just doesn't accure to us that he could be dressed in other colour..just as you've done so well in this case.
