Dusty's Re-enforced steel crotch ! quick guide.....

My Dusty figure was suffering from a damaged crotch, so I decided to give him a new one !
The finished result isnt perfect but its not bad either.
looking at the last pic, the crotch needs a tiny amount of sanding at the bottom to level it out a bit.
here are my results in a step by step format .......
1 ) The before pic with aforementioned crotch damage ...
2 ) A small hole drilled the same diameter as a skinny panel pin ...
3 ) A small panel pin superglued into the previously drilled hole ...
4 ) Some plastercine formed around the crotch area ...
5 ) A few drops of Resin and plastercine is removed ...
6 ) A quick lick of paint ...
7 ) Dusty is back in action again !!!

Awesome, I second Soobs request. My house is full of broken crotches and I seem to spend all my time on ebay trying to find new ones. Looks like another great idea.
Fantastic job Andy. I used a similar method to repair my Shadowtrak missile prong and Imperial speeder bike leg. Drilled into the centre of each half of the shaft the inserted a steel shaft, then glued. Stronger than it was before too.

Good patch up job Andy I had the same damage to my Battle Corp variant Deep Six but luckily I didn't lose his crotch piece and after first gluing it to me then peeling it off quickly and sticking it to him he has stayed intact for years.

That's really cool Andy, is that the first time you've ever done something like that, or have you managed other body parts too?
Really, really cool job buddy
Dave.

Heres a quick couple of pics of some stuff ......
Bill, i have had those pin chucks for years, so i have no idea where i got them. I suppose the first stop would be the model shop ?
the Resin is from Halfords, I think it costs about 6 quid a tin but you will also need a tube of hardener.
