25th Boffin

Here's my 25th Boffin. Actually very straight forward as it's entirely based on a Matt Trakker figure with a sculpted beard. I did scrape and sand the zip line down the front as it didn't line up on my figure as made it look wierd.

I used Andy's pics from the archive rather than the real figure as they were better pics, though I kept the colour scheme from the prototype and added the 'NO 2" writing. I kept the red gloves and ankle trims as it balances out the red quite nicely, though for a more purist version a sculpted cowl and repainted hands/ankle would be more accurate. I didn't swap the boots for darker versions as that means breaking into another figure and I hate painting light boots dark as they just chip easily.

Thanks to Baron/Dave Tree for the prototype pics and thanks to Andy for his pics of his Boffin custom. I do think the Boffin colour scheme suits the classic figure sculpt rather than the 25th style (which didn't effect the Baron for example)

Thanks guys. I thought of making a completely new body, such as a very technophile body with leather straps and bags holding tons of tools, or even a normal three piece suit (using Connery's body and head from Indy) as a more Q like figure, and it was only last night when I was sorting through my figures that I realised the Matt figure would work. It's a jumpsuit unlike the tunic look of the original, but it keep the essence of the original design. The prototype verion (and yours Andy) really suits the figure, and I'm not tey sure how well it translates yet, but the concept of the character is great and he's now recruited to the Tower where is lair is already half built. I've already decided in my world that Boffin made the AF vehicles, the SAS/Z/Q/Space stuff and the new vehicles including the Snow Cat. I've printed off a lot of the blueprints in scale for his layer.

He could 'ave Destro anytime! The Ross Brawn of the AF universe!

Cheers Paul

I started it about 11 this morning. If the milliput is thin then you can get away with painting it, though 12 hours is usually needed. The most time consuming part was the sanding of the old zipper lines.

Wow!! That short a time that is tremendous! Ever considered a career as a plastic Surgeon?
