Blood for the Baron!

Ever since Dave Tree joined the site and showed us a picture of Palitoy's prototype Paratrooper , I've felt that one of us should be able to make a custom reproduction of the figure. Based on the Luke Skywalker in Bespin Fatigues toy from The Empire Strikes Back, (it's true! The boots are a dead giveaway), the prototype Paratrooper appeared in the very first AF-Catalogue, and as you can see...

... he differed quite a bit from the production model actually released in shops!


So..., my buddy Mark set about resculpting and repainting Luke, and I (unable to secure a parachute from or even ) set about making a parachute from a Skydiver toy from my local newsagent, (what a b*gger all those threads were!), attached to a backpack courtesy of our online pal, The Kraken Wakes!

Our version... will appear as soon as Mark gets the images online !

Im just trying to figure out how you did the head ? Is it Luke's head with the helmet added ?

I think if you manage to find an original parachute, it would finish him off nicely.

I was going to attempt one of these but as yet havent got around to it, so well done !

I couldn't get the original 'chute for love nor money, hence the multi-coloured cobbled together version.

As for the bang-hat... a genius effort from my buddy, Mark, sculpted directly onto Luke's head, as per Dave Tree's original message.

And for your perusal, you'll notice that the prototype Para, not the production one, appeared in the AF3 Mini-Comic!

Space Commander, nice work, I may be able to get you a better parachute too.

i saw some parachute troopers in a shop near me, not sure what make they are but they range from WWII to modern day, willcheck em out & see what the chutes are like!

ross can you get your hands on ww2 1/18 german figs?
looking some for some customs.
