Babyjelly's 25th Anniversary style SAS

Yesterday I repainted the wave 1 25th Anniversary Snake Eyes as Stalker, using the exact same repaint scheme...

Image

Well today I started an 'Eagle' custom, using the same base figure (I pulled his head off, but will now buy some more Snake Eyes) by boil and popping the Eagle head, cutting off the peg and dremelling the head. It needs a flak jacket, which, ideally can be added, but otherwise I can sculpt in milliput black.

The boat I posted from 'World Peacekeepers' works well as an SAS Force boat, but also the men you get with them look good too...

This might help for his body armour.

Thanks for the link. However, impatient as I am, I sculpted the vest. I've used some cling film to keep a slight gap to allow for some articulation. Hope it doesn't completely stick!!!

I'll paint it black tomorrow, but any paint rub shouldn't notice.

The head, which will be repainted to match Eagle from the comic books, is from the German Motorcycle figure from Indy 3

Final pics hopefully tomorrow

And the head fits well onto a spare Snow Job I have as a SAS Snow Trooper...

that is fantastic. i never realised the old AF heads fit so well. you also beat me to the sas snowtrooper.
can you give us a tutorial on how you sculpted the vest. i bought some milliput but the 2 times i've used it have made an ungodly mess. thanks for sharing, i'm gonna have a go at a 25th SAS strike team now.
also some tips for dremmeling out the heads would be useful.
cheers
Bill

Here's some filecards, in 25th style, for the ones I'm making as I go along. They are bitmaps, so will load more slowly, but just to ensure that they are useable if people want to save them.

Thanks very much for the feedback Muton and Double Tap!

Dremelling heads - I use dremel heads from a B+Q grinding pack, with a torpedo shaped hard grinding head. You need to take it slow (I burned and melted the plastic on setting 8) and widen the hole at the bottom. Keep trying the head to ensure your drill hole is going on straight.

Milliput flak jacket - if you don't want articulation, superglue the mid thoracic joint. If you do want some articulation, get cling film and wrap around the thinner lower torso. All of the lower torso needs covered or milliput will stick to it. It needs to be tight too. Then wrap the milliput around the lower half, biulding it up. Neck scarf then vest then add the hooded part and finally the surface detailing.

My Eagle is dry now. There's maybe 40 degrees articulation in the mid thorax and the milliput black is OK un painted and is about 3-4 mm thick.

I've painted Torpedo black for Barracuda too. :barracuda:
