Just today I happened to stumble across MUGEN - it seems to be a freeware 2D fighting game engine (Think street fighter 2 and you got the basics). Well basically people can create characters and AI routines, not to mention music and levels for characters to fight in. I found a version with 800 characters, including ronald mcdonald, popeye and Tom hanks (!)
I was just wondering if any of you guys knew if there were action force characters made for it? If not it would be an excellent project. Imagine Snake eyes taking on the fearsome might of duck dodgers!

none that I have seen but it would be a fantastic and awesome project for sure
we could even use the sprites that we have on this board for them
right now we have quarrel dela eden guacho steeler and action Man

there are sprites here? do they have animation routines? That would be really cool. I just stumbled across this yesterday as I said, so I have no idea of the complexity involved in creating characters. Downloading a 3.8gb mugen package at the moment, so hopefully I'll be able to test it out in a few days time and see what's involved.
Anyone else interested in this idea? It could be very cool!

To update, the Mugen torrent I was downloading has halted at an obstinate 16.5%, so I don't know how much hope I'd hold out for me getting it any time soon!

thats right I did, I got to post some pics too I did a pretty good Baron Iron Blood that I havent added with skip and eagle
but ya I did this with MK armageddon

I had a look at your mortal kombat thread, great stuff!! I'm presuming that MUGEN would require creation of the sprites, which would be a much harder undertaking. Any good artists around here?
Anyways, I'm gonna post a video thread of some mugen action I found on youtube, in case anyone is interested:
Lets see, how does this video tag work.....
You'll see dragon ball z characters, a lady who appears to be the ghost from the ring films, and I think I saw phoenix wright from the DS lawyer games. Enjoy!
