Noticed that you don`t see many original figure customs.
Found a spare Frostbite figure and stole his arms for the AF9 driver.
On the lookout for some legs now , may go the same way as the Baron figure and use more detailed ones and paint them white, I`ll post more pics as I go along.

"Hey! I can bend my arms at the elbows! :D !"

Seriously, It is nice to see one of the originals getting some customisable love. Those arms fit in with the look very well.

One suggestion. I don't know how thick the plastic is on the shoulders on the torso, but have you considered using a countersink drill to make a well for the arms shoulder joint to sit in?

I`m still in the very early stages of cutting and shutting, so to speak :)
Sounds like a great idea, but what is a Countersink Drill?
Sounds like a stupid question, but I`m still learning!!

Hope that helps. Basically, it is drilling a concave into the hole for the shoulder joint so that the ball fits more flush into the body.

Thanks for that :)
That makes a lot of sense. I`ll have to try and track one down for the better finish.
Working on the legs, it may be possible to use the jointed figure legs ,crotch and o-ring.
I`ll post some more pics with the progress.

Just be very careful when you do it. Turn the speed on the drill down a little and do it a mm at a time, checking after each application. Better yet, practice on an old or cheap figure first.

Hey Dupleman!
Many people will be cursing us for chopping and slicing up the older figures!

yes i know its fun being hated though aint it!!!!!
now if we'd been working on the toy design department with paul we'd have come up with some better stuff.we'd have had any enemy space force,a better red vulture,a snow shadow unit, enemy transporters,an enemy black ops unit(all with black major bodys)z force pilots, lots of commanders and captains....
but yeah,i have nightmares of a mob of angry americans with burning torches outside my house blaming me for making krakens extinct by chopping them up before they can get any......just lifted my bedcovers....there's a kraken head in there!!!!!! the italians want me too!

I am another heretic willing to slice and dice old and rare figures, and open MOC figures to get parts for customs or army build. I have frequently had comments like: "You used what?" Nothing is safe from my screwdriver and scalpel. Bwahahahahahaha!

That figure is coming together very nicely. One or two more tweaks and it will look production.
