Blood for the Baron!

So, I sold a large lot of Modern Action Man items on eBay - £6.99 + £13 postage (through Parcel Force) due to the weight. Since part of the weight issue was a footlocker (which I'd not pictured but just mentioned in the listing), I offered to remove it to get the postage cost down. Having exchanged messages and a picture of the footlocker the buyer said he wanted it with everything else.

As I always do, I agreed that if I could post for less I would do and give a part refund. In the meantime the buyer has checked Royal Mail and considers I can probably send it for as little as £5 as a small parcel (true, at the right weight). The parcel when wrapped is just about the maximum for a small parcel size, but weighing in at 3kg it can only be sent medium parcel at the best price of £12.98, by Parcel Force (yes, exactly as I'd advertised in my listing).

Now the buyer has left negative feedback on the basis I've wasted money on postage and ignored his clear message. Speaking to eBay this doesn't fit with their policy of feedback removal, despite the reality being that I've done what was advertised on the listing and couldn't actually have reduced the cost using any other Royal Mail service! Did he want the 2p difference between what it cost and what I charged! What is the world coming to!

It's a difficult one and tbh I now use myhermes (It would have cost about £6). Everyone pisses and moans about them but over 100 parcels, i've had issues with 3. 1 was delayed by a week but it still got there, 2 never got a signature! I opened a claim and got back £400 10 days later!

eBay can't stand people putting seperate postage as part of the sale, they prefer "Free postage" which means you add the cost to your starting bid (Negating the 99p starting fee). I've pulled away from using eBay as much as I did in the past because of this. One thing I will say though is you can comment on feedback. If the guy won't take it back then comment on his feedback.

I feel your pain mate! Between eBay fees and Royal Mail's increasing postage costs and daft rules I've given-up selling on eBay...and don't get me started on eBay's f*cking Global Shipping Programme in getting stuff from the U.S.!

Ebay has all but dried up for AF goodies from the UK. I can't remember the last time I bought something, postage has killed it, no more bargains to be had. I'm bloody glad I started when I did but now I'm faced with getting 2x Command Centres to Aussie. That ain't gonna be cheap.

You mean the Global sh*t Programme? I got a quote of £30 for a single figure to the UK from the US, thats insane. I've only used the GSP once, it was slower, more expensive and less well protected than any of the other sellers I've used. Nothing other than a money maker preying on people's laziness and ignorance.
