*Sigh* I kinda knew this could happen but didnt think it would be in such short timespan, just glad it wasnt my primary MCC which was affected here (have 6 of them). The "incident" happend when I mistakenly decided to store a spare Mauler on top of a MCC on my office floor and apparently that causes a reaction between the rubber threads and the plastic. For the exact same reason I have small pieces of paper underneath each Skystriker on my Flagg to avoid "sticky" wheels

I've seen a Ferret that had had the same kind of chemical reaction between its wheels & tyres, it looked if somebody had taken a blowtorch to them

Solido die-cast toys also suffer from this chemical reaction too, very often I've been told it happens almost "overnight"... thank God they use proper metal track on their (superb) tanks.

Yikes! Strangely enough I had a similar thing happen with my Skystriker and the deck of one of my (I still miss it) Flagg! Luckily I actually had a spare deck section!

Yeah, the Cobra Ferret ATV is notoriously known for these "melted" rims and I have a few in my spares with this problem.

I've never seen this before, frightening! Is it caused by heat?

Doing a bit of research, on the die-casts anyway, its a process called migration... something to do with the chemical softener used to manufacture the rubber tyres.

My office is generally around 21-26c so if that is enough to start off the process then I might have to consider how I store my vehicles if I should ever need to take down my display.

Some of the tank treads on the Mobats/Maulers/Battle Tanks can have the same reactions as well. They also don't like packaging peanuts as well.

That's shocking! Although it does kind of look like battle damage...

Maybe storing them on glass shelves would keep the temperature down?
