Nobody famous just my mate

Sad news today my best mate from University has died following a heart transplant, he had had a massive heart attack about two months ago and was being kept alive in an ICU in Canada with an artifical heart.

If I have any regrets it is losing touch with him and his wife 18 years ago, I missed their wedding as I had decided that an RAF course was more important.

Feeling a bit down, waves of grief and the like, feel so sorry for his wife and family.

His name is Dr Forbes Wardrop, he was a yeast research scientist. He loved his American football and a bit of ice hockey too. He was a dedicated scientist and above all a great family man.

Rest in Peace mate.

Sorry to hear of your sad news Paul.

Try not to dwell on regrets & focus on remembering the good times you had together.

Sorry for your loss Paul, life sucks at times i know I've been through a lot the past few years with deaths :(

We all take different paths in our lives mate so don't feel bad, be happy for the fact you knew him and shared time together!

Sorry to hear that, Paul. It is unfortunate that we are all getting older and barely any wiser. I had to go to my best mates Dad's funeral a couple of weeks ago. We aren't getting younger and from my point of view, it's time to get stuck into life before it runs out.

BTW, none of my mates are guys I talk to everyday, or see a lot of, but when we do its the time that counts. Don't lament what you missed, enjoy what you had.

One funny story (in my mind any way), while at Uni I had been a bit out of sorts for a week or so my friends were all slightly concerned so as Forbes and I were wandering along the corridor he asked what was up. I then confessed to having shagged the class ugly bird and was having some trouble getting rid of her............... His exact words "You did what! Are you f*****g mad!" Q banter for the rest of the year.

Going to see Lethal Weapon 3 at the cinema, trips to the arcade the Billy Connolly concert in Forfar, beers in the Hogs Head (some strange French ale) and many more

My god Paul. I'd never do that, but one of my best mates did. :-) He still has teeth marks in his upper arm.
