Storage of carded and boxed items

Hello Chaps,

Some advice needed please from the greatest minds the world has ever known.....the members of the Blood for the Baron forum!!

I appear to have collected a few carded figures and boxed items over the last few years. I didn't set out to do this as I'm a fan of loose items (and loose women...woo hoo!) but it just seems to have happened anyway!!

So, my entire collection is kept in sealed clear plastic tubs in my loft. Usual loft conditions, bastard freezing or baking hot, but it's the only place I've got for storage.

Any tips for how I should approach all this 'cardboard action' I appear to have acquired? Getting a little concerned that one day I'll crack open a tub only to find serious deterioration has occurred.

Ta muchly

You could always sell them, free up the worry and free up the cash for the loose women as that's not a cheap hobby :)

I've got GW acrylic cases for all mine, good sturdy protection, well recommended. The tubs in the loft sound okay as long as they're packed so there's no weight/pressure on the bubbles and cards to prevent warping.

What's the collection like?

I agree the tubs should be fine, my loft stuff is stored that way and has been for years. Other than that inevitable loft smell they should be fine.
Sunlight is usually the worst enemy for toys so you don't have to worry about that at least.

Pretty sure that happened to Tintin, didn't it?
