Military Police Hummer

Post by Red Baron »

It feels like a lifetime since I've had the chance to finish a custom and take some pictures, but here it is. I grabbed the chance to take a few pictures before the sun went this evening. Just a simple re-spray of a World Peacekeepers hummer, to go with my MP figures.

The next customs have been started, but who knows when they'll be finished!

Pure class, I wish I had your talent to create these master pieces.
Not here for a long time, just here for a good time.

Brilliant. How did you do the bent legs on the fella in the back of the wagon?
When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Thanks guys. It's certainly nice to finally finish and photograph a custom.

The bent legs were fairly easy - I cut suitable wedges out the front / back and then bent them into position. Glueing the joint at the rear didn't work as I recall (I started that back in summer last year as my plan was to use another bent leg figure to sit on the outside of my flail tank - the passage of time has meant my memory is a bit faded), but in any case I filled the gap at the front of the knee with miliput and then sanded etc to get the right sort of look.

Fantastic! I know I shouldn't say this but if that beauty is ever submitted for custom of the month, you have my vote in the bag sir!!! (Apologies to other customizers fellas, there's always a pretty good scrap for the custom competition, but you know what I mean!!)

If you cut a wedge with the widest point at the back, splitting at the kneecap, you could drill a hole in either side and pin it together before gluing. Though you'd probably stil need some miliput to smooth the join and possibly add some fabric folds. It's a brilliant custom, very smooth and seamless.
