Does anyone else feel that the GIJOEUK site isn't really needed I don't want to make it sound like I could do any better but I am beginning to think it has no point to it as some of its members myself included are also members of this Forum, there are more threads to read on here and half the time I have been on that site there has been no-one else on it to talk to or you find you are wasting time putting on new threads as no-one replys to them anyway?

I think the joe uk site is a good idea - I'd like to see something dedicated to what's been released in the uk - basically just like AF Online but with the "european joes". The forum might get more active once the site gets up and running... I think more sites means more chance of people who are interested in AF/Joes finding out there's a community of like minded individuals out there.

Ok fair enough but there isn't a lot on it compared to this one it does have potential but nothing is getting done on it.

if the site would concentrate on what they originally said they were going to ( the years after hasbro took over ) then I guess but so far its really just been rehashing what is already here but not even close to anything quite as good.

I personally think they shouldnt start that site to be honest unless NO OTHER SITE WANTS it. I think they should ask the baron here if they can contribute the stuff to this site and a whole section devoted to what they want to cover.

IF THE BARON SAYS NO then I guess it would be okay to start a new site.

but I think again they should join this site because together we could have the ultimate UK site, and combine our strenghts to really make noise in the JOE Fandom but seperate we are BOTH much weaker.

Is there some 'propper' content on the site yet? The links I have:

http://www.gijoeuk.com/ - This says it's "comming soon" and gives links to the following :

http://www.gijoeuk.com/forums/ - fairly quite forum but some of the links to joe pictures and stuff are cool

http://gijoeuk.wordpress.com/ - a couple of articles and that seems to be it...

Sites can be a bit of a slog to produce (I ran my own music related one for about 4 years) so I'm prepared to give it the beneifit of the doubt...

has anyone contacted them to see what the state of play is?

ya there isnt any proper content yet and I honestly dont expect any and ya your right about sites being a lot of work , that is why its better to join a exising site and make that one better.

The GIJoeUK forum is (in my mind) for Joe/AF fans in the UK (and elsewehere) to discuss the line once Hasbro took over.

I use this forum for the AF side of things before Hasbro took over.

I think the GIJoeUK forum is a good forum....it is a recent start, but hopefully things will pick up in time.

The more the merrier, I feel. It'd make more sense to concentrate on the post-Shadows era than rehash this site, as Jamar has pointed out but I'm curious to see what they come up with.

I agree they may have jumped the gun posting the forum before the actual site but I quite like the community they've built. I was a bit worried rivalries might develop but so far it's been cool.

At the moment it looks like they aren't doing anything and by the way the competition was announced and no-one won I feel like I wasted a whole evening for nothing I am seriously thinkimg of leaving that site as this one is so much better.

It's gone very quiet on that forum.

Was dissappointed about the competition too. They could have at least given a prize to the entry with the highest score.
