Q Force – Surfer Variant Type 3

Sorry, again!

In the same pile of figures was this little number.
A Q Force Surfer
Sadly beaten and mutilated a la Catherine Eddowes

He is a hard plastic as opposed to the soft plastic of the Types 1 and 2 next to him. He has very pale face paint, and the red of his gloves etc is a more orangey-red than normal.
His left hand is badly damaged and difficult to see properly, but his right is rounded, rather than the flat of the Type 1 and 2.

I propose, then, that he is the 2nd Wave version of Surfer - Type 3 in the Official Checklist.

He also has a Long Mic rather than a Round Mic, which raises the very likely possibility that a Round Mic version of the 2nd Wave Surfer exits - a Type 4 in the list.
Exciting stuff.

This pile of figures I won on ebay has been a goldmine of interesting figures!
I guess it pays to have a large quantity of figures with which to compare.

He is on the far right on the top photo, and left in the hand photograph.

I have a Surfer made with very hard plastic limbs. His limbs are also super wobbly. Assumed he was a late figure, which had been poorly made.

Is there a morris dancer version too?

Yeah, that's the one.
May well be a later, crapper, version.
But the limbs are definitely wobbly, and the plastic is very hard. Unusually hard, in fact.

No that I am aware of, although, god forbid, that is a possibility.

Fits the bill for mine. I think I have a Red Shadow who is similar, but need to check.

Oooh, sounds interesting. The 'normal' (i.e. the non-Dufus) Shadow has slightly harder plastic, but is not really noticeably harder. If your Shadow is as hard as the Surfer, then we have something very interesting.

I'd say my Shadow is as hard as the Surfer I have, though I've not compared to a Dufus. He also appears to have never had the eye slits or skull / cross-bone details applied (no real paint wear to the black - not enough to have worn the decals off so cleanly. Feels to me like these super hard figures are at the end of the run somehow. No production quality control at all?

Could it be a German variant Shadow?

I was going to say ATT variant. But the lack of eye slits seems to be a production issue, no white on the head or upper.
If the plastic is really crappy and hard, it may well be an off batch, or as you say end of the line productio with no QC.

Oh, and pics or it didn't happen!
