Evening folks,

I've spent quite a bit of time poking around the site and well to be honest it's beyond time I joined in. Thanks very much for all the effort that has gone into maintaining this amazing archive and for the work that has gone into colouring the old comic books. I've started to work my way through these.

I was born in 83, so my exposure to Palitoy product was a couple of figures that were still on shelves about 3-4 years later, so naturally I had a Muton but also a couple of Z-force and SAS figures as well. I think I got them as part of multipack surplus packs that were released after Hasbro took over the company. That's a guess, I have seen pictures of these packs online, with vague recollection of getting them all at once. I also got 2 Hunters and have no Wolverine to show for it, so I'm guessing that must be how it came about.

I grew up with Hasbro's Action Force and wasn't aware of the original Palitoy Action Force and Red Shadows. A real shame I think. While I do love Action Force/GI Joe and am enjoying collecting what I can of the modern iterations I do feel the absence of something more domestic. While in the 80s there wasn't the internet, but there were so many variations of this line, between Europe, America and South America there was a great variety of figures and characters that were unique to that area and now we're in a world where there's very little mystery or variety. But I'm rambling now.

I'm Derek, from and living in Ireland, currently enjoying researching the line and it's history. My last purchase was a lovely Black Major and am considering my next purchase, I'm driven more towards collecting Red Shadows to begin with and will move from there.

Anyway hey everyone, thanks very much for having me :)

And while I'm here ye might like a quick look at a Muton I'm painting up at the moment, this one even looks like a robot. Stood beside my original Muton and apologies for the terrible photo.

Thanks very much, the base is an NRG figure from Ben 10 of all things. The figure itself is very charming.

Welcome Derek!

Love your Muton custom, I like the way the chest echos the shape of the original Muton's head.

I had a few of the four packs back in the day, had two V2 Dolphins but nary a Sealion between them.

Welcome aboard dear boy! Great to have another chum join the ranks.

There is an initiation challenge you must pass to become a full member here though, and it differs from person to person. Yours was to make a superb Muton custom out of a Ben 10 figure. You passed with distinction!!! Congratulations!!

Great to have you here :)
