Has anyone got any tips for a good quality laser printer? My old Canon Pixma iP8500 needs updating and I want to move on to a laser printer, but as technology isn't my strong point, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I no expert, but from the refill's point of view..
Personally I'd only go for a Laser printer if you're printing vast quantities on a day to day basis, we print out loads of delivery notes & other documents every week & haven't changed the black toner cart' in over a year (@ work).
Laser toner cartridges are massively expensive to replace, especially the colours, but last a hell of a lot longer in comparison to ink jet cart's... it's a strange world, when, a full set of replacement inkjet carts can cost almost as much as (or even more than) the printer they're going to go into.

Laser is the best and most economical way to go. Yes, carts can cost up to $100, but you get months out of them, years if you are a low volume user. Just be aware that new lasers will not have high volume toners to start off with. Last one I sourced for me sister in laws business was a Epson. Reasonable toner replacement cost and a good price to boot.

I have a Samsung C300 I think it is, great quality and brilliant for printing decals. Pretty cheap to buy and run.
