I've nearly completed my 82-83 figure sets, a friend of mine (Zoltan on the forum) Schooled me on the differences between the 82 + 83 backpacks, see picks below for ultimate frustration factor :-)

These 2 are just for example, the differences are there on all the 82 backpacks.

Wow, you were right, it did make me facepalm. I had no idea you had such control over me. I may as well pledge the rest of my life to your service now. Who shall I kill for you? ;)

Easy! Your first order is to bitch slap every mutha f*cka that's sold me the wrong backpack!

Is this in correlation with the straight-arm releases?

That's right. Basically the straight armed 82' figures had a slightly thinner back hole, the pegs of the backpacks were a tad shorter/stubbier. For the 83' re-releases and in fact all other releases the backpack peg had a "disc" extension at the base of the peg.

And the f*ckers that sold me limbs for '83 figures, when in fact they were for '82 figures or later recasts. f*ckers.

I'd never seen an '82 backpack before. They never sold them in this part of the world.

Maybe I need to check if I have any of those ´82 packs on my figures or in my spares......I am sure they will demand just a bit more than the "ordinary" ´83s and later :D

When I found this out I went through mine, I just need an 82 Flash backpack to sort any issues out. Unfortunately I haven't had any luck with trying to get it on eBay as most sellers just don't know the difference! I don't think they're worth anything more, it's just nice to have everything as it should be ;-)

Hmm, my Zap and Short-Fuze are actually ´82s...... I remember I had both SF´s at some point (SA and SWA) and sold off the SA but I guess I chose the wrong backpack for it then :)

Annoying isn't it? (I still need a swivel arm short fuze) oh the joy I'll have trying to find the correct backpack :-(
