Secret of Crickley Hall is one of my favourite books ever! And I have Ash awaiting my having the time to fully invest in it - I suspect it may be my Spring Bank Holiday Holiday book for this year.
A sad loss, of a great story teller.

I told the missus he'd died and she said "what, the vet guy?"
Ah well. I think the only book I've read of his was "The City."

Oh man. As soon as I read his name on here it took me back to sneaking a look into my two older brother's book collection, and man they loved horror novels.
The one that really sticks in my mind was the front cover of 'The Rats'. Sent shivers down my spine and chills me to think of it now. I wished I hadn't looked at their books as I was told.
This story does have a happy ending though as the next time I looked at their books I found porn
