Triple Play in IDW GI Joe Yearbook #1

Has anyone got the first volume of the IDW G.I. Joe Yearbook?
Was thinking of buying to get the full version of the classic Oktober Guard v.

'Triple Play' story written by Larry Hama and art by Michael Golden. It was reprinted in the UK

comic, think it was the full story over several weeks.
Can anyone confirm that it's in the yearbook? Is it a good reprint etc?
Danke schön

Hi Quickie, I don't know if it's ever been republished, sorry to go all
Sundance
the story is from the 2nd year book (March 1986).
One of the best Joe stories ever, if you ask me, & the artwork is absolutely bloody fantastic

Ah, I see

... you see, ...

.... it's these things like "2nd year book" and "1986" that made me ask the question.
On amazon (am a little loathe to feed their GBP 14bn coffers as the high street collapses) it seems to be in.

... but it says that it's the 1985-1988 yearbooks collated so that fits your description
Many thanks T'shot, at some point am only going to buy for the one story, it's an amazing bit of work by Golden in particular, was one of the few

stories apart from Silent Interlude and the

origin story that I liked back then.

It may be just as cheap to track down the original, I got my copy up for no more than a couple of quid.
The third yearbook contains the follow up story to Silent interlude.. the one where it's

&

's turn to rescue

from the

building in New York. Highlights of that story are

killing the

's (in the sewer) & seeing

in her stockings & suspenders.
Appollogies, that last statement was too Sundance-a-like wasn't it?

I think the idea is to now collect the yearbooks so I would assume Triple Play will be featured.

I've only got the 2nd & 3rd yearbooks,

, I think there were only 4 published?
From them the format seems to be a stand alone story, a review of the year in the comics story lines (a perfect bluffers guide to G.I.Joe history) & an interview/feature about the upcoming cartoon series...number 3 also has a tedious story about the Dreadnoks cooking for Serpentor (I kid you not!).
Any of the stories which feature the October Guard are entertaining, check out some thier appearances in the Special Missions series, but Triple Play just blows every thing else out of the water thanks to the outstanding artwork.

The worst yearbook was the first one because they didn't make any effort to give us new material they reprinted #1 instead so I never bothered buying it.

I own it. Yes, it has all the material from all 4 Yearbooks. "Triple Play" is in there. It's a pretty fat book, so I had to buy a "Golden Age Comics" bag just to keep it protected. It's a must-have if you have the original Classic trades and the Special Mission trades...

Thought you'd be interested to know that IDW are producing one of their 'artists editions' of the Tripple Play story. They usually are priced around £100 but are full sized reproductions of the original line art. A MUST HAVE for fans, I'm talking to Larry Hama and Michael Golden about the project for an interview soon. I'll keep you posted.
