Sad to see this on the news earlier. A great creative mind. The mind had seemingly beeen lost over the past few years with the horror of alzheimers, so somewhat of a blessing can be death when it comes, but nevertheless a sad day.

So many great productions to choose from, Chop, including Supercar, Fireball XL5 & Dick Spanner.
The golden age of Century 21 (his production company) had been & past before I was born but the shows were always being repeated on the telly in the 80's & they left a mighty impression on my imagination.
The Action-man Space Speeder, deputising for Thunderbird 2, would often be loaded up with toy cars & HO Airfix soldiers before taking off from its secret hanger (located behind the sofa) to save Lego buildings. Even by the time I was playing with Star Wars the sideboard & other furniture would act as massive Anderson-like underground bases for the Rebel Allience.

Aye, Derek Meddings was a true genius as was Barry Gray.
There were so many talented people working on those shows, I once met & got chatting to Alan Sharnbrook who worked for Century 21, as a model maker, alongside Mr Meddings during it's heyday.
