Not sure about this, the trailer makes it look really depressing!

I got my sceptic hat on. Crowe and Costner? One thing that Metropolis isn't, is Gotham. Superman isn't that gritty kind of story. As for reinventing the wheel, he's near immortal, couldn't they do something original?

Gah, hope they don't balls it up.

Did you notice that Costner looks like John Schneider as he did in Smallville?

Ah, Man of Steel. Great story. Byrne distilled most of what worked in the Superman mythos and added of his own to make it even better (the cold and antiseptic Krypton, Clark being born on Earth, etc). It's the definitive Superman origin story to me.
Oh, were we talking about the upcoming film? It looks bad. They are trying to use the same approach as Nolan in Batman, but it doesn't work with Superman. Batman is darkness, Superman is light.

I'm of the oppinion that Christopher Reeve is the definitive Superman.

Unimpressed with this one, they aren't using the theme from the 70s version and its hard to see how they can improve on the first film, it might look 70s now but thats the only thing wrong with it. Throw in Zack Synder and I'm ooout.

Spot on, DA. Metropolis is the happy place that Clark keeps happy, Gotham is the Dark place Bruce fights to bring into the light.

And T'shot, to recreate the origin story is an instant fail. Its been done before, and it was unbeatable by Reeve. Why didn't Nolan grow a pair and use the Doomsday story and give him birth that way? It would be easy and it would keep Reeve canon while rebooting it for a new generation.

Pfft and piffle. Ba f*cking humbug.

Did anyone else enjoy the last Supes film? I did.
