12th November 1983.
Mr. Campion has inked a bold, showy, balls out marketing cover for Battle Action Force featuring the massed ranks of

, with a few

and

thrown in.
As the former were in the shops for the September launch, perhaps someone at the Palitoy headshed has handed over reference materials of the latter in October to help create the headline 'Super Competition.' [
BTW who won that one?] Everything's in the mix for this, even the

base.
But, who's that lurking on the left at the head of the footmobile column?
It's a

dude, but not as we know
So .... that prototype MUST have been at a very advanced development stage to hit BAF if not the shops. Perhaps.
PS. 1000th POST!

Yes, to reiterate my lost reply, it's taken from the prototype pics in the
1983 Palitoy Catalogue.

Danke for posting all of these pics and refs again Eisenblut, especially this custom which is always remarkable to see.
Scoob, hats off to you
It's interesting that

don't appear as prototypes, even alongside the mysterious

Evolution of Action Man ?Space Ranger? Buckethead Einz and Zwei. Or did

get cobbled together at short notice?
PS. Oh fugg I just remembered about the Hot Jets - Vodka issue while reading the Swordfish schematics.

And his nibs features in another - perhaps lost threaded - bit of НОСТАЛГИА from the back of Tiger, 1983.
As per prior discussion, still looks like Brett Ewins, in parts. Different inker?
PS. Hat-tip to BigHatDino.

Well, Quickie looks like it's just me you and Chopper for the weekend!
I remember that advert, never really thought much about the art work not matching the figures when I was a lad.
