here is a few things that I do know
a GI JOE convention has never been tried in the UK due to lack of interest
a transformers convention ( including Botcon ) which is the bigger convention in the USA has been tried and met with lukewarm success, if any at all
I know nothing about Action Man Conventions
If we did something like this we would want to get the guys over at the ACTION MAN HQ site involved
THe mexico ONLY released cgi movie the Gangrene code could be shown at the convention. we could either have subtitles done for it or even have fans do the voice work as I have seen Transformers fans have done for various things.
Still think the way to go ( at first ) is a joint convention, maybe 2 days one being Transformers and one being ACTION MAN / ACTION FORCE let vendors stay both days or just one.
I personally dont really like combining the transformers with GI JOE despite my love for both properties BUT its a economical descision. This is something that will need time to grow, I dont think AM / AF has enough RIGHT Now to be successful ( covering cost wise) but if you did both you have a better chance, and again you could have the same guest for both properties.
if the thing takes off then you would want to split them up ( which should be the ultimate goal )
and a RED DAWN Convention exclusive comic is a definate possibility

All this sounds great Jamar I think the members of joecustoms some of which are on here too would be interested we could maybe do a joint showcase customs table between the two sites

Just for the record, the nearest airport is Nottingham East Midlands.
I know TRansformers and GI Joe are synonymous in the US, but there is just no connection between the two in the UK. I think Action Man is a far better connection.
I want to make a Muton costume. Where can I get my hands on an old Deep Sea Diver suit?

oh I dont think any one is arguring that ACTION MAN isnt a better fit, because it obviously is, I just dont know if an ACTION FORCE /ACTION MAN convention would be economically viable.
I dont know much about the action Man community but unless its a powerhouse then I dont see how a convention on these two alone would be economically viable.
Im not in the UK though so you guys would know better than me
