How's the overall book coming along?When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

I'm restarting it, it's been such a long time since I worked on it that I've rethought a lot of it. I still need to source a lot of images too, the loose Germans mostly and some elusive bits and pieces. But otherwise I have everything prepped and ready.
But now I want to do it even more like a dossier, with 'TOP SECRET' stamps, coffee rings, handwritten post-it notes etc. And I want to take the mugshot-style photos of the figures and add a border so they look like polaroids (like I did with the Mutour photos in the 30th Anniversray Special), and have sh*t like paperclips holding them in place.
Also, when I made the figure poster I cropped the outline of every figure photo to go on the white background, I spent today working through the images and giving them all a transparent background which will be far more versatile to use. It'll be cooler, but it now means that I ought to crop the outlines for all of the vehicle photos too. Maybe, maybe not.
But it's pretty much prepped (although I just remembered I want to recolour the background templates too), as ever I'll put my head down and plough through it in one go, I've just not had the time to focus on it until now, due to events beyond my control. But essentially this is another rewrite of the BFTB toy archive, just in a different medium, I've done this job several times over already so don't foresee too many hurdles, touch wood.
It would be nice to get a digital version together for the 11th birthday next month, if not I'll just release what I have to the Elite forum. Because I also want this to be a group effort so I'll be asking for feedback and suggestions before going to print. The biggest question is where to draw the line with variants, we all know the Friday-afternoon specials are numerous and unique, but do they belong in the main pages? Similarly I'll be asking for verification of facts and images, and it's always handy for a second pair of eyes when spotting typos.
And I might redo the colours on the cover art too, I'm not feeling it yet.

That list looks pretty comprehensive. The background blue is a little distracting, but I guess you are trying to keep it relatively uniform.
Let me tell you, Gunner La-De-Dah Graham, the British Army can fight anything! Intimate or not!

It won't be so garish in print, it's the same shade of blue as the 30th cover.
