Thanks a lot! It gets easier the more you do. I only started customising because I'm such a big kid I want toys that don't exist!

I'm not trained at all in art (I'm a doctor by trade) so my sculpting is just through persistence!

My first .cbz project with the SAS in is due fairly soon!!!

What do you guys think about the SAS logos? The only one I've painted it on is Hunter because he's clearly identical to a Python Patrol figure (ish) otherwise. Stalker never had one and is all the better for it IMO. I was thinking...

Frontline troops - no SAS logo

Support troops - SAS logo

Any ideas????

Also, I will be making a second 'generic' commando in the style of Quickfire with a Crimson guard (human head) headsculpt; and a second SAS Trooper like Eagle.

Chopper will be up fairly soon. Beaver, Stakeout and the Attack Troopers are probably some way off, partly because I'm wondering if the new GI Joe movie figures will be all black and hence good bases but different to the current choices.

Also any other 'environment' operatives might crop up. I was thinking of a Alpine-like variant with black furs and horse etc, and Jungle variant. Also I'm redoing a slightly larger base building on ideas from the first one I did.

I'm going to do a 25th red shadow fairly soon and my damaged Muton (if such a thing is possible!!!) is half done!
cant wait to see these new figs. dying to know what you're going to use for your shadow as i think i know which fig i'm gonna use.
as for the logos i was actually going to suggest you remove 1 of eagles breast pockets and put logo there. if you want them to be realistic-no logos. in the tradition of the AF universe use logos. but regardless these are outstanding the only one i'm not too keen on is Hardwire but thats more to do with the base figure rather than your customising skills.
do you take commissions???
Bill
Funny thing about Hardwire is I hated the base figure too, but reculpted the arms, torso, legs and even the head has gunk added to get to the point where I liked him. I like his face because it reminds me of Footloose. I do like him now, but I agree about the base figure.

As for the Shadow - probably a crimson guard base, but I'm hoing to try and heavily resculpt the body

I sometimes do commisions

I love your sculpting and the use of clear araldite is inspired.

Here's my new version of Hardwire - I think this is more promising

Just a WIP at the moment

Just a quick update...

I have finished the following SAS members...

SAS Trooper (identical to Eagle) - Codename : Harrier

SAS Comms/Hacker - Codename : Hardwire (Different to WIP above and needs painted)

SAS Commando - Like my Quickfire one (Generic character)

OK, quick question...
I have an SAS Mountain Expert coming up in blue/grey outfit. What is the best codename???

Rappel? Grapple? or something else?

:stalker:

Also I've started to write part 2 of the SAS series - Red Dust, whilst photography for part 1 is under way!!!

Grapple is way up there with the other SAS double-entendres, Beaver, Chopper and Stalker.

OK, tidying up my remaining SAS customs for a week or so...

Here's a generic Commando in the same style as my Quickfire

I agreed with Bill about my previous Hardwire, so here's a new version. I'm a lot happier with this. The backpack is from Firefly, but I've replaced the jerry can with a SAS laptop

And here's a SAS Trooper - Harrier - with Eagle on the right

They really are cracking. The Daniel Craig head looks the part on an SAS body if that makes any sense!
