Well these posts saved me asking about AFA! There is a seller on ebay that has some of these AF figures that have been verified by the AFA. £49 for an SAS attack trooper, £59 for a Z Force Captain. Certainly seems worthwhile to have them verified.

Cheers

When confronted by a difficult problem you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question. How would the Lone Ranger handle this?

Personaly, I'll be very surprised if any of those AFA AF figures sell.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ACTION-FORCE-1983 ... dZViewItem

Fifty and sixty quid for the figure in a plastic box.

You can get the figure moc for about 5-7 quid on ebay quite easily.

And the acrylic boxes from Oscar's Cases for about about a fiver each.

Anyone who pays £50 is a fool IMO.

The seller is assuming that Action Force is a big money toy like vintage star wars. With a few exceptions, AF is just not anywhere near as valuable or collectable as SW.

Still, good luck to him...

I'm going to get my entire collection AFA graded, and them sell them all for ten times their value, and then retire.

Or maybe I'll just go to work tomorrow as normal...

Out of curiosity, how much do they charge for their grading service?

JEN, if you put something about them being a loft discovery, and then "check out my other auctions for more finds", I think that in itself should show that it's an original piece.

about getting them AFA graded.
my friend does it at least once a year with S.W. and Joes, they have two services, one that is something around $25 $30 USD per figure loose or carded and it takes about a week but my friend has it done the slow way which takes them about a month and its $17, plus he always waits till he has a couple to spread the shipping costs, whats crazy is that it seems that the 25 aniv GI Joes AFA graded are selling like crazy.

but sometimes you see real bargains go by, I saw a loose vintage Tunnel Rat AFA 85 go for $18 !!!

I guess its kind of a flip of a coin...

if anyone wants me to ask him more details let me know

peace!

c.

oh Jen,

about that Jawa
if you have the time and don't need rent money I would definitely have it AFA graded you wouldnt be wasting your time/money
Looks like its in real nice condition could be worth LOOOTTSSSS specially if you sell it once the new movie comes out in a couple of months or on Xmas

I think being at the right time can make a big difference
In my opinion if you don't grade it whoever buys it will, and if you do the work you will receive the rewards...
specially with that vinyl cape they almost always broke thats why they changed them to cloth capes and thats why they are so rare, they where the first version they ever made if its got its original gun do it, if it doesn't probably a collector would try to get one before having it graded.

good luck!
