The looking up thing might be because of something I never knew until I got a boxed one - it's meant as an upright gun as well as a sort of towed gun. (hard to explain, but look at the pics in the archive of teh box)

yep,indeed it is meant to also be used as an upright gun.....i have the box from 1 of them

It can't spin when its upright though can it? So a bit of an oversight there. Still a good bit of real world inspiration for the toy.
