Blood for the Baron!

There's a great Billy Connelly skit about a Scotsman drunk in Hong Kong who decides to get a traditional thistle tattooed on his back with Scotland Forever bordering it. Of course there's the language barrier and the tattooist has never heard of a thistle so the guy draws him a picture. The tattooists eyes light up "Ah! Thistle!" and he gets to work. Hours later the guy checks in the mirror to see his lovely new pineapple tat.

Ross you have great "love" tat's..it's them self done jobs the old Ted's used to have done with rusty old school compasses I'm thinking of...

So the stories are true..I always thought it was a sort of urban mith thing..Baron that joke reminds me of that line from the Shirehorses song "Tony":

"..I even had your name tattoed right across my knob,...well a bit of your name, anyway.."

I think it would've been worth the tattooist's time checking the English spellings before undertaking these first two "masterpieces"

ah, crap tattoos. A few years ago, 17 years ago to be precise, at the rugby club a new zealander playing for us bet the team we wouldn't do our own tattoos, having used a marker pen to get the outline, we then had to tap ink into ourselves with needles attached to wooden blocks, i now have avonmouth RFC around my belly button, some didn't get that far though. They now have things like avo and avonmo and some you can.t read. Why the hell i done it i don't know!

This brought back two things that in their time made me chuckle. The first was the Comedian Dave Gorman, who got so fed up of being asked for ID when in America that he got hammered and had a tattoo of his driving licence done - complete with a very crap picture of him and his then ginger beard.

Second one, and I still chuckle about this to this day, was one of my favourite ever stories in the Sunday Sport (I used to work in a heavy engineering factory - the Sport was everywhere, and usually worth a chuckle/perve). Story was a bloke went for a tattoo of an anker on his back, and ended up with a portrait of Jeremy Beadle.

Story was the tattooist misheard him and thought he'd said "wanker". Typical Sport story, but I found it hilarious at the time (and still do!!)

Kinda like that old joke, how does it go?...This fella wants to have Ferrari tattoed on his knob..but all he manages fit on it is a Mini..
