Well set aside all the trying to combined Joe and AF world, who would you all like to start to bring a back story to life for? Then we can figure out all the other details later ;-).

Should we start a vote?

I'd suggest leaving the oddities like Special Weapons Force until last, as everybody will have thir own take on things. Similarly the original 1982 bods were mostly generic troopers, so I'd skip them too.

Shall we start with the 1983-1984 range, beginning with the Red Shadows?

Red Shadows works for me. Do you want to start with the trooper or one of the Leaders? Overall, I'm game with any of them. Time frame works too for me, as I think we can work on later time frames if this works out well.

I would say that I would start with the information, but I know I'm not the most knowledgable on this stuff. I could offer some interesting stories, but for the overall what is known about a character, all I have is what I have read with in this year.

I might suggest a new thread too, as I don't know if all here even check out my inquiry on Red Shadows .

Don't know if you guys would be interested with bringing in the Argen 7 or South American Joes in the mix, but I know that might be cool to do also. I even talk with a guy in Argentina, so I might be able to get some information on them. I might be jumping the gun here, so we should see how it all starts before planning more, huh? I just have been on a really big foreign Joe kick, but this isn't really foreign to you guys .

Let's focus on Palitoy era first. Probably not much point in doing Hasbro UK, although there are variances in character origin. I'm game to tackle Argen7 as well, but know next to nothing about them other than Jamar's posts.

Shall we call it the Backstory project? Best thing would be a WIP thread in the Fanfic section of the forum, I think.

Um. I have been working on something there that I think is REALLY cool. 1982 AF that is, its an easy tie in to series 2 and later, including Datafiles which have and will be modified from the 2 I have already done. Do you mind if I tackle that myself, Jim? Subject to communal agreement afterwards and/or later adjustment of course.

I'm happy not to interfere if you've already made a start. Will it fit in as part of this new project, do you think? Or should we adopt your model to expand upon the rest?

Well, I was sort of trying to keep it quiet, but I'll spill. Oh, except a couple of special characters that will be my crowning glory of coolness. Basically AF will have existed in a more covert fashion since WWII, hence the commando, para's etc. Much like the modern SAS. So what ever happens afterwards is not really an issue as long as its assumed they existed before. Does that make sense? I'm sorta working towards there creation in 1982 (series 2) and deployment in 1983. Up till then they were a much smaller organisation.

Can we make the Shads an extension of the Nazis, then? There's loads of ties: the figure mould, the "Death in South America" strip and the 2010 Staff Car!
