Glad to hear everyone's ok, Eddie. I wouldn't have thought a car could do so much damage to a brick building. Speaking of which, how is the vehicle in question?

well the bongo friendee is a right off, basically at a weight of approximately 2.5 tonnes and the speed at which it hit the wall, rough estimates at around thirty to forty miles an hour gave the wall a whack and a half. the problem if you like is that there is no cavity in the wall it's just two layers of brick, the tow-hook on the bongo had gone right through the wall cacking it in a v shape up the side of the house, had there been a cavity the space would of absorbed the impact. it was with real sadness today that i took down the toy room. i feel terrible. but the cracks are all over the place.

it was difficult to remove everything, will it return? i don't know at this early stage i can't answer that, it took almost 6hrs to take all the toys down and pack them away and then to find somewhere to put them.

the empty shelves

i really am gutted. having the house damaged is bad enough but to have to take down the toy room it has broken my heart.

Take heart mate, it'll take a while but you'll get every thing straight & back together eventually ..both of you are safe & well which is the really important thing.

I have a feeling it'll take longer to put back up than it did to take down, I didn't quite understand just how much stuff there was untill I started to remove the accessories and stands and put them into bags I didn't think it would end.

Don't get too down, it'll be back. It also gives you an excuse to improve it too.

Any news from the structural engineer.
