Dave Tree wrote:I couldn't answer that, as never repeated any when I started to buy Hasbro as a kid, but to add further confusion, I have two different stamp marks on Hunter's butt, one labelled with same info on Cobra Officer:

C 82-83 Hasbro
Made In Hong Kong

and on the other:

Made in China
H-1

don't like where this is headed, I'll be checking all the figures at this rate

The really, reeaaallllly odd thing here is that Hasbro, that is to say the US parent company, and not Hasbro UK, or something like that, didn't start using factories in China for figures until 1985. Even then it was very limited. A few vehicle drivers in 1985. In '86 all vehicle drivers could be found with both "China" and "Hong Kong" stamps. In 1987 special teams like Battle Force 2000 started showing up with just "China" stamps, while vehicle drivers were still found with both. It wasn't until 1988 that main line single carded figures started being made in China. Even then the "China" stamp is the rarity, where as in 1989 "Hong Kong" becomes rarer. In 1990 they are all "China" and it stays that way until they start using Indonesia around 1993.

So how does a European figure made from a borrowed American mold that's normally produced in Hong Kong, end up in China?

What years did Hunter actually get released? I thought he was out of production by 1984?

I think I have the solution. It's a Hunter with a Python Troopers waist:

I don't have them both in front of me. I think the Python Troopers belt might be a lighter gray, but it might be close enough to go unnoticed if your not thinking about it. Also, I'm pretty sure the Python Trooper should be marked as "China".
