Same thing happened to me when I moved to Aussie, Annie. I was 16 and got ripped for my accent. I quickly used that to my advantage tho, and managed to work out an Aussie accent without too much trouble too. If I go back to NZ or talk to mates on the phone, it all comes back pretty quick. Mind you the Kiwi accent can vary from one end of the country to the other.

for the record, i do not hate Scots. as far as i'm concerned they're British so they're awesome, the same as the Welsh and the English.
