ALIENS... Well I loved it at the time, but to be honest I'm not as keen now. I see it as an 'action film with monsters' rather than true 'horror', and while it has some great "BOO!" moments, I don't get the atmosphere of dread I did (and still do) from the first one.
Agreed 100%. Alien was FAR scarier. And for exactly the reasons you mention. You're stuck, no escape and the fecker is hunting you. Not so much gore, but HUGE amounts of suspense. So good any sequel is going to suck. I couldn't stand Aliens, professional soldiers my ass. If Eagle was in charge the end would have been wayyyy different.
As for 3 and 4, never made it all the way thru with either. One day maybe. Anyone got a good list of Horror/suspense Sci-fi films? It'd make a great poll
