great idea, but the cost is too prohibitive, would suggest approx $10/figure.
would it look like this?

oh ya RED LASER AND RED JACKAL would indeed be the easiest for sure

as to why the Black Major would be easy, all the parts exist to make a really good one

Theres TWO different M.Bison heads that could be used ( which is exactly what the club would use ) and the parts for the body exist too

I'm with the "yes" crowd. £150 is a lot, I know, but as regular Shadows can now command up to £15 each I think some nice articulated Convention/BFTB Exclusives would be worth the amount.

that would be the base yes, with a new RED SHADOW head and a more red shadow paint scheme.

and I know I have said this MORE THAN ONCE but SERIOUSLY guys I feel like you missing it .

OF Course a 10 dollar figure is what EVERYONE would suggest and rather want. But to do that it would mean a production run of like 4-5000 AT LEAST probally more. THE OFFICIAL GI JOE COLLECTORS CLUB cant even do that I dont think we can either. IM HAPPY TO BE PROVEN WRONG too

but steve is right 20 some year old NON articulated figures go for more than this

ah those red troopers are nice alright . but i was thinking maybe to cut costs and be more cost effective how about a AF Team 5 pack you can still have one Red shadow in there but make updated figures for the old AF teams too. I was thinking what would be sweet would be 25th updates for a single figure from all the teams as speciality 5 pack box or 7pack depending on how far you'd be willing to go.
I know as I'm new here I don't know the ratio of o-ring(and classic) collectors vs the 25th fans
but even if you did a signle vehicle and classic figure for classic fans and did the 5pack speciality set for 25th that would keep everyone happy . just look what they did with blades for this year con is a prime example of reviving the line ( even limited)

BTW whats the comic you mean is it a reissue of the old AF commics ?

tycondrius wrote:okies I'm new here just signed up but I posted athread over at Hisstank. in order to do somthing like this we would need to make our own European or UK joe collector club .that way we can actualy get the molds from hasbro for the figures we want to use in any sort or collectors set / of cousre hasbro has to get a mark up on them but we'd have to contact them first or the founders of the US and Canadian Joe clubs and see how they do it .
Remember the sets they make are repaints esentialy of pre-exsiting figures or parts swaps .
to do a Red shadow set will be tricky as for the most part you need to scuplt things likes heads and find bodies sutible.now i'm not saying thins is impossible but .what i'm sugesting is that we form a joe collectors club for the UK and europe market .this mean we will need to do reserch into numbers

btw the set you sugested making from trooper bodies would that be 25th style or classic ARAH bodies ?
Welcome to the boards! good to have you here!

Okay so first the figure ( if you look at the link I posted ) would be RAH old sculpt bodies , not that I have anything agaist the new stuff but my contacts only have access to the hasbro molds of the old RAH type construction

Second to have an official UK collectors club you will have to pay licensing fees. and This would have to be passed onto the members.

The parts are there to make a nice RED SHADOW Set

RED LASER EASY
BLACK MAJOR EASY
RED SHADOW troopers all we need is a head sculpt , Steve D does a great job but having hasbro doing may mean making MOLDS of the head which would make it more expensive

We would be looking at the SAME exact price range that the collectors club has and so far the poll is showing that the support isnt there at the moment. NOT GIVING UP though.

BEST BET is to really support the club and VOICE our opinions loudly and constantly EVERYWHERE

BUY THE COMIC is one way to do this.

Keep the thoughts coming, its not a matter if we can or CANT do it, I know we can , its a matter if people are willing to pay the same prices that the collectors club charges. Right now people are saying no.

the convention comic stars BLADES from ACTION FORCE purhase that from the club LET THEM KNOW WHY you buying it , its one way to let our voices be heard

this is a great idea but you would have to run 4-5000 of EACH FIGURE to get the price the same now youre talking about 5-7 fiures each thats 35,000 figures? The idea is to do the red shadow figure because its a troop builder and people will want more of those

people will only want 1 or 2 of the individual characters

again love the idea but as you can see not many people are able to purchase things like this at such a high cost.

This place is a great site make yourself at home and have a great time

I couldn't justify spending so much on action figures but if they went for a lot cheaper and I liked them then yes I would like these. A poseable Black Major would be great I'm not so interested in other characters as I made my own.

oh got ya

welll basically this body http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 3DWatching with a more red shadow ish color scheme IE the black color

with a red shadow head much like STEVED's heads ( you can find those pictures in the thread in this poll section )
Ah, didn't realise you meant that kind of body. That'd be me out then, sorry.
While it's a nice idea, most of the Joes I have on display are 25a or RoC and the older Joes just don't fit in with that that.

Cheers,
Doug

There are people getting these figures made already in different colours, there are several sellers selling new 84 cobra troopers and officers - big outcry a while ago as people were trying to pass them off as originals.

One guy on ebay us is selling a white trooper which is obviously newly moulded at $20...

How many troopers would be in each box? Looking at the design it might be ok but depends on the look with the Shadow head on it.
